Within the walls of 11th century Barcelona, two stories marked by drama, love and ambition unfold. A young peasant who succeeds in changing the course of his destiny for the sole reason of growing prosperous, and thereby becoming worthy of a young noblewoman’s love. Meanwhile, the adulterous exploits of the Count of Barcelona plunge the city into a dangerous political imbroglio.
