 Esteban Rach is an Argentine scientist leading an idyllic life in Montpellier, the cradle of molecular biology. When his fellowship ends, he manages to continue his research at Harvard, where he arrives with his findings from France to apply them to a possible cure for muscular dystrophy. While he is at a conference presenting his discoveries, a stranger hands him the personal diary of his murdered grandfather.

That diary reveals to Esteban that his grandfather led a double life: he was a secret Nazi hunter in Latin America. From that moment on, Esteban’s life takes a sharp turn, and everything speeds up: successive failures in the laboratory make him suspect that there is something hidden behind the scientific bases of his research.
