The Country of Butterflies
(El país de las mariposas)

Spain, 16th century. Mariana’s friend, Alfonso, and her father are sentenced to death. Mariana’s brother sets off for the New World, and soon she will do the same to escape a bleak future. There, she will meet Miguel, a descendant of Moctezuma. An interracial love story will be set in the 16th century, between Spain and New Spain (Mexico).
