Antonio López was commissioned to paint a portraitof the Spanish Royal Family in 1994, and it took himtwenty years. The canvas, with its sketched figures,spent all that time in a room in the Royal Palace,covered in sheets. This novel takes aspects of a truestory and imbues them with the myth of DorianGray. An original, highly literary read that is incisivewithout ever being overwrought.
