The Flooded House
(La casa inundada)
Literary Fiction
This novel explains why we are the way we are. A boy’s voice gradually grows until we recognize it in the desperate man Mario has become. He’s 40 forty years old and his life is going nowhere fast. Mario finds himself in a hotel room with a woman whose name he doesn’t even remember. He decides to exit through the back door and head up into the mountains. There we find out about his emotional concerns and his particular way of viewing the world. His very close connection to his sister, his relationship with his cousins, his first love, his parents’ separation, the loss of his father... His story has ups and downs, and like all memories, its reconstruction has a tendency to be misleading.
