This book is an in-depth look at the Mexican intellectual with the intention of dialoguing with this tradition. The resulting image is a polyphonic self-portrait, drawn through interviews with fourteen of the most prominent intellectuals in Mexico. Through their testimonies, Emmanuel Carballo, Elena Poniatowska, Enrique Semo, Huberto Batis, Víctor Flores Olea, Vicente Leñero, Roger Bartra, Rolando Cordera, Lorenzo Meyer, Héctor Aguilar Camín, Jorge G. Castañeda, José Woldenberg, Juan Ramón de la Fuente and Juan Villoro discuss not only their personal stories, but also the history of the most important political, social and cultural changes that took place in Mexico in the last half of the 20th century.
