Cádiz, 1936. Alba Monasterio is born into a wealthy family of wine makers. Even as a very young girl she began to meet up in secret with Esteban, the son of the woman who does their washing. Esteban and Alba are forced to keep their romance hidden because of their differences in social status. When they are found out, Alba’s family forbids her from seeing him again. However, her love for Esteban transcends the passage of time, and will make her a witness to her family’s fate while she awaits the return of the ghosts of the past.
