This book is an introduction to the practice of mindfulness and its application in everyday situations, with the objective of learning to disconnect from outside noise and pressures and connect with yourself in order to control stress. The author introduces exercises throughout the book that allow the reader to apply concepts of mindfulness directly, with suggestions such as the meditation on spinach, on your toothbrush and in the shower. She offers solutions for situations such as “my boss is a slave driver,” “my teenage child drives me crazy,” and “I do not know whether to stay with my partner.”

About the author

After teaching Spanish to foreigners, she and a partner set up the company Lo Mónaco, which employed more than seven hundred people. After her experience as a business owner, she began to practice psychology. She now works at the Centro María Zambrano in Granada, where she teaches stress reduction courses based on mindfulness.
